Eleanor Russell Reycroft 1917
In June of 1997 I had the pleasure of attending Reunion as the campus guide for Mrs. Eleanor Reycroft, who was attending her 80-year Reunion. At the time, I was 25 and she was 102; I slept like a baby after that weekend, because she wore me out! We walked around the campus, attended events during the day and in the evening, and walked (yes, walked!) in the Alumnae Parade to cap off the weekend.
I found a few photos of her in the 1917 Legenda, and this color snapshot was taken as we prepared to lead the Alumnae Parade. It was a delightful experience.
Eleanor Reycroft passed away in late 2004, shortly before what would have been her 110th birthday. Click here to read her obituary from the Lexington Minuteman. Click here to read an article about her life in the Boston Globe.
